Sustainability
Limited Batch Production
We carefully craft our garments in small batches, minimizing waste and ensuring each piece is made with care and attention to detail. This approach allows us to produce high-quality clothing while reducing excess inventory and environmental impact.
Minimized waste
Fabric waste is an inevitable byproduct of manufacturing garments, but at Meadowsweet Lane, we take several steps to drastically reduce it:
- We utilize leftover fabric scraps in our own collection, creating new pieces from what would otherwise go to waste.
- We share excess materials with other designers and companies that work with our manufacturer, promoting reuse across the industry.
- In the rare case of remaining waste, we donate the fabric to FabScrap, a Brooklyn-based recycling and reuse service, where it’s repurposed by changemakers, artists, and designers.
Natural Materials
We prioritize natural fibers, such as cotton, which provide both comfort and durability. By choosing cotton, we help reduce reliance on synthetic fabrics that contribute to the release of microplastics. This approach supports a more responsible manufacturing process, focusing on timeless, high-quality materials.
fair wages and production
All of our garments are proudly manufactured in New York City, where we ensure that everyone is paid fair, living wages. We partner with local manufacturers to uphold ethical standards, supporting both the local economy and the skilled workers who bring our designs to life.
