Our Modern Baby Book | Artifact Uprising

The most gorgeous baby album keepsake

Artifact Uprising Baby Book

As I sit here, Olivia is 10 months old and trying to hit the keyboard as I type. Where has the time gone? This post is long overdue lol.

When I was pregnant, I knew I wanted a physical baby album. Although, I wanted more than just a generic pocket album from the store. I wanted it to be beautiful; something I could leave out on the coffee table and it fit right in with the decor. I wanted it to have space to write down the memories that went along with the photos. But most importantly, I wanted it to be a special keepsake piece for my daughter.

I’m a huge fan of Artifact Uprising and their albums and prints. Their modern baby book, The Story of You, fit all the traits I was looking for!

My parents were so kind and gifted the Olive colored one to us because, of course, of our Baby Olives (as I like to call her). 😄

At the beginning of the album is a couple pages for the parents to share about their life before baby arrived. I can just imagine Olivia all grown up, looking back at what Mommy and Daddy were like before she was born!

The rest of the book goes month by month through the first year of life, with prompts and spaces to fill out memories and place prints. There’s also beautiful quotes, pages to write letters to your little one, and even a pocket to keep special cards. It’s binder layout means that you can purchase and add extra pages wherever you’d like so that you can keep more pictures and memories!

I can’t wait to show Olivia her baby book someday. I know it’ll bring smiles to both of our faces.

Do you keep a baby album for your kids?

Oh Baby!

Coming October 2018!

Caleb and I are so excited to announce that we are expecting our first little baby in October!

Nothing has changed our lives more than the realization that we're about to become parents. Pregnancy is such a wonderful gift! It’s like this combination of love, joy, fear, anxiety, gratitude, excitement, and responsibility are wrapped up in one giant, overwhelming feeling.

I was blessed to have a pretty easy first trimester; a bit more tired than usual, some nausea here and there, bloating (which I hope will be turning into a bump soon!). I haven't taken any bump pictures yet, mainly because I just keep forgetting (pregnancy brain?). I personally can tell that my body has changed, because my pants don't zip or button anymore! I guess that means I should go shopping lol.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you finding out the gender of the baby?

YES! Caleb and I are far too impatient to wait until birth to find out. We will find out if it's a boy or girl at the end of May and we can't wait! Caleb is team blue (of course) and I'm hoping for a girl! Just think about all the cute clothes! 😭But to be perfectly honest, we just want a healthy baby no matter the gender, so we'll be thrilled either way!

Do you have names picked out?

We do actually! When Caleb and I started dating in high school I shared with him a baby name that I liked. I didn't know at the time, but it's a family name and he loves it! So yeah, we picked out a baby name when were were, like, 16 or 17 😂We were just babies ourselves!

Anyways, we have a list of names we like and plan on going in a certain order depending on which gender each baby is. We will most likely share the name once we find out if it's a boy or girl because I'm not that afraid of people "stealing" our names. We'll be naming our kids the names we picked no matter if other people use the name too lol. #noshame

Were you surprised? What was your first reaction when you found out?

Well, we weren't trying, but we also weren't not-trying. So yes?

We went to California at the end of January and I surprised myself (and others) by how much food I ate there. I was hungry ALL THE TIME. It didn't go away when we got home either. A few days later, after I missed my period, I decided to go to Target and buy a test. I grabbed some prenatal vitamins while I was there too, you know, just in case. It came back positive almost instantly and I was both excited and terrified at the same time! Motherhood is a whole new level of responsibility!

How did you tell Caleb?

In my head I always imagined I would surprise him with a cute box or something that he opens to find out, but I just stuck the pregnancy test in the Target bag I came home with and told him that I got something for him. He had been telling me that he thought I was pregnant all week, so seeing that it was true made him so happy! He's going to be such a great dad!

We are just so happy and excited for this new journey we're on. Raising a family together has always been our dream. I can’t wait to share this journey with all of you!!
